OK Tax Filing Postponement

Due to a disaster declaration announcement issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency as a result of the recent winter storms, the IRS has announced tax relief for all individuals and businesses in Oklahoma. The filing deadline for most individuals and businesses with filing deadlines between February 8, 2021 and before June 15, 2021, have been postponed to June 15, 2021. This postponement also applies to estimated tax payments due April 15, 2021. The IRS automatically identifies taxpayers located in the affected area and applies filing and payment relief. The IRS has also granted this relief for the State of Texas.

The Oklahoma Tax Commission is meeting tomorrow to decide whether Oklahoma will grant the same relief. Such relief is expected. The May 15, 2021 filing date for the Texas franchise tax return and payment of franchise tax has not been changed but such relief is expected.
